Portinatx is Ibiza's northernmost resort, set on a rugged coastline of pine forests and three beaches — s'Arenal Gran, s'Arenal Petit, and Port de Portinatx. The area has a more low-key, family character than the south of the island. Holiday villas and apartment complexes are spread across the hillsides overlooking the bays, with rural properties in the pine-covered mountains behind.

Northern Ibiza's cooler microclimate means pools warm up a little later in spring and cool faster in autumn. The additional rainfall this area receives compared to the south also means water chemistry can shift more dramatically after storms. Pine needle and resin deposits are a constant challenge for pools near the forests — they affect pH and create filtration issues if not managed properly.
